Wedding Ministry/Holy Matrimony

WEDDING MINISTRY/HOLY MATRIMONY
1. I’M ENGAGED, NOW WHAT?!

The first thing that usually comes to people’s mind after two people announce their engagement to one another, is “have you set a date?” If you’ve picked a date and you’ve asked people to save the date, most likely, you have your location(s) all picked out too.

If you are reading this and have visited this website, then you are probably wondering, if this is this priest/minister for us? You have to be somewhat of a “free thinker/free spirit/unbound by rigid dogmas and religious constraints” to be taking the time to view this site in the first place.

SO…

2. HOW/WHY CAN I SERVE YOU?

As the HOME PAGE of the website says, all sacraments I celebrate are valid in the eyes of Rome, so that means any wedding I witness “is valid” (in Rome’s eyes, if that is even important to you, or more importantly possibly your parents or grandparents, more so, these days). EVERY PLEDGE OF MUTUAL CONSENT TO HONOR, UPHOLD, AND SHOW REVERENCE FOR ONE ANOTHER, PUBLICLY, is VALID. WHETHER WITH A JUSTICE OF THE PEACE, A MINISTER, PRIEST, MAN, WOMAN OFFICIANT….IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHAT AND HOW IT LOOKS LIKE OUTWARDLY. WHERE THERE IS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, RESPECT, HONOR, AND COMMITMENT, THE VERY LIFE OF GOD IS MANIFEST IN THE HEARTS AND INTENTIONS OF THE BRIDE AND GROOM!

I mean, right?! Isn’t that what your heart says?!

3. LET’S GET MARRIED OUTSIDE, NOT IN A CHURCH

I will marry you most anytime and definitely anywhere you choose to have the ceremony.

4. WRITE OUR OWN VOWS

Not only do I allow it, but I encourage it.

5. MY REQUEST OF THE COUPLE

MINIMUM OF 3 PRE-CANA SESSIONS (INCLUDED IN THE SUGGESTED DONATION FOR SERVICES RENDERED)

6. LET’S KEEP IT SIMPLE

Beauty can be manifest through simplicity and by not being overwhelmed by the planning for the legal wedding ceremony. My job is to help that aspect to be smooth.

7. SIMPLE. SHORT. SWEET.

TO THE POINT.

BUT STILL INSPIRING.

Elaborate Masses aren’t always the way to go, although I do feel that if you’re heart has gravitated towards the Eucharist throughout your life, then you probably would be inclined to want to include it. If you want to include Communion without a Mass (trying to keep the service short, because you can hardly contain the excitement and desire to #1, begin your life as a married couple, and # 2 to celebrate and dance with joy (as you should), then we can do that too.

TO THE ENGAGED COUPLE: The only thing I ever advise, is remember the whole day is a “sacred event” meant to treasure, and meant to be lived to the fullest every-day in that same spirit of reverence for the God-Presence living within you and your spouse.
8. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM ME:

1. I WILL DO MY ABSOLUTE BEST TO INSPIRE YOU, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES

2. I WILL FURNISH YOU WITH A PUBLISHED SCRIPT OF THE CEREMONY

3. I WILL BE A CALM, PEACEFUL, BLISSFUL PRESENCE.

4. I WILL MAKE MYSELF AVAILABLE BY PHONE FOR ALL YOUR PLANNING NEEDS ONCE YOU’VE SECURED MY SERVICES WITH A DEPOSIT, HALF OF THE FULL BALANCE.

9. WHY DO YOU NEED TO PAY A

DEPOSIT?

This is just to ensure that I don’t “lose my shirt” because of a cancellation that may lead to a lost chance at being available to do another wedding on the day you chose.
10. WHAT IS THE TOTAL

PAYMENT TO FR. BRYAN?

I charge $185 for all local weddings within 30 miles of Canandaigua.

If your wedding is being held over 30 miles from me, I charge $215.
STAY CALM AND RELAX: LET THE BEAUTY FLOW

WHEN IT’S FINALLY WITHIN REACH, IT’S TIME TO TAKE A DEEP BREATH, GO INWARD, AND REMEMBER IN YOUR HEART, THAT THIS DAY WAS PRE-ORDAINED. YOU ATTRACTED ONE ANOTHER THROUGH YOUR HEARTS’ (GOD-PRESENCE WITHIN) MAGNETISM. THAT’S RIGHT, IT’S NO SECRET ANYMORE. THE LAW OF ATTRACTION REALLY WORKS.

STEP 1 DECIDING ON A FORMAT:

* Traditional Christian Ceremony

* Traditional Interfaith All-inclusive Ceremony

* Traditional Christian/Interfaith

& Contemporary Mix Ceremony

* Liberal Catholic Liturgy (I will have

(a file to click on down the page)

* Totally Original Spiritual or Non-

Religious (written after I

get to know you in pre-cana sessions

with you)
STEP 2: PICKING SPECIAL

READINGS

I don’t know about you, but I like to spice things up a bit, but keeping the sacredness of marriage in full effect. If you want to stick to traditional readings often used in various scriptures such as the Bible (Old and New Testament) or the Bhagavad Gita (Hindu Bible), that’s great. We can do that. If you are an interfaith couple, and come from different backgrounds (again, anyone, anytime, anywhere – so, hey, if you want to pay me to marry you on a cruise ship, I’m in!!! I could out do the captain any day! Just kidding. I am much more humble than that). Anyway, upon corresponding we can talk about some of the popular verses used during wedding ceremonies.

HOWEVER…

There is a great deal of mystical and romantic poetry writings out there to be unleashed through the magical power of the presence of two people professing their love for one another. Sufi mystic Rumi is a great source and so is Paramahansa Yogananda, a saint and avatar (divine incarnation) that lived during the last century. These men “knew” God intimately, as have many mystics and saints from all religions throughout history.
